19th century pair of Russia jasper vases in Louis XVI style

A pair of important ornamental Russian jasper urns with ormolu mounts, provided with scrolling acanthus forming handles, holding heavy draperies falling down on both faces of the paunch. Each vass rests on a circular base very finely chiselled with interlacing, above a square plinth decorated with flowers.
