Samuelis Baumgarte Galerie celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2015 and looks back on a long tradition of international art advising. Founded by Ruth Baumgarte in 1975, the business was taken over in 1988 by her son, Alexander Baumgarte. The gallery offers more than 1,000 square meters of museal exhibition space. Over 350 solo and themed exhibitions with accompanying publications have been presented at the gallery in Bielefeld, Germany and at important art fairs such as Art Cologne, art forum berlin, Arte Fiera Bologna or FIAC in Paris. The gallery specialises on both established and new positions of 20th and 21st century art, while focussing on intermedia tendencies.
