MORENTZ

Netherlands, Waalwijk

Based in an historic Art Deco building in the Netherlands, Morentz is home to multiple gallery spaces, a full restoration workshop and an upholstery studio. Since its conception in 2006, Morentz has slowly built up an extensive collection of twentiethth century and collectible design, and a loyal customer following. The Gallery’s strength lies in its combination of knowledge and intuition. The collection, which includes pieces from all over the world, is meticulously curated and supported by art historical research. The vast collection includes works by masters of 20th century design such as Paavo Tynell, George Nakashima, Axel Einar Hjorth, Wharton Esherick, Carlo Scarpa, Ettore Sottsass, Pierre Chapo, Finn Juhl, and Jules Wabbes, to name only a few. Morentz hopes to inspire its visitors by creating immersive presentations in which historical design from various regions and decennia is brought together. Morentz is proud to employ a team of over 50 experts in their field: from art historians to design specialists and expert restorers. Over the past 14 years, Morentz has developed relationships with clients all over the world, and has had the privilege of working with most of the AD top 100 designers.
