School of Paris: Community and the avant-garde

Stern Pissarro Gallery is thrilled to present School of Paris: Community and The Avant-Garde, an exhibition celebrating the community of artists who gave rise to many of the major twentieth-century masterpieces. The exhibition will cast viewers back to Paris at the turn of the century, where writers, philosophers and artists from around the world, flocked to the neighbourhoods of Montmartre and Montparnasse. Showcasing the enduring impact of this influential group, the exhibition will feature standout pieces such as a museum-quality still life by Pablo Picasso, a collection of vivid Marc Chagall works, and a group of works by artists from the School of Montparnasse.
