This finely executed two-layered agate cameo depicts the bust of a female figure facing right, likely representing Venus inspired from classical Graeco-Roman statuary.
The stone is signed PESTRINI, with a probable attribution to Clemente Pestrini (Italian, active in the early 19th century).
Dating from circa 1810–1820, the brooch is embellished with pearls and old-cut diamonds. The reverse is closed and features a refined textile under glass, adding an additional element of elegance to the piece.
