Literature: Probably from a huge ‘armorial’ device or building pediment. The carvings with remnants of their original polychrome. The ‘tightly’ grained heavy wood typical of many of the carvings from the Indian subcontinent.
     Both Lions with expressive forward facing ‘alert’ expressions, with a defensive demeanour.
