Solid beech, pear wood veneer, stained and polished, inlay in
mother-of-pearl and white metal, cast white metal cuffs, surface slightly restored and seats re-upholstered in suede leather approximate 30 years ago, very good condition

Vienna 1872– 1933 New York

Architect, interior designer, painter, graphic artist, exhibition and stage designer.
Founder member of the Hagenbund and its president from 1906 to 1908. In 1901, responsible for the renovation and interior design of the "Zedlitzhalle", the exhibition hall of the Hagenbund. In 1911, he
moved to the USA, where he became head of stage design at the Boston Opera and Metropolitan Opera. From 1922 on he was the director of the New York branch of "Wiener Werkstätte".
