Medium Marble, gilt and patinated bronze

Pair of bronze and marble candelabras with three branches each. The lights are supported by bronze caryatids with dark brown patination, who are dressed in long tunics à l’antique and have their backs to a pillar, forming the stem. The S-shaped ormolu lights are decorated with foliage and wreaths and end in a socket highlighted with interlacing and twisting patterns. The candlestick arms surround a central stem decorated with lilies in patinated bronze. The set rests on a two-tiered base adorned with friezes of interlacing and Cupids dancing and playing, which itself is supported by a cylindrical, white marble base. French Directoire.
