The oval facetted Burma ruby of approximately 1.20ct, between two stone diamond line shouders, the diamonds of old double-eight cut, accompanied by GCS report no 5783-168 for the ruby giving the Burma origin opinion with no indications of heat treatment

Provenance: By family descent and sold by order of a member of the de Rothschild Family. Renee Louise Marie de Rothschild (1927-2015) was the daughter of Anthony Gustav de Rothschild and Yvonne Lydia Louise de Rothschild (nee Cahen d'Anvers). In 1955 Renee married the British equestrian and Olympic show jumping medallist Peter Robeson. Together Peter and Renee became hugely successful racehorse trainers from their stud at Tyringham in Buckinghamshire.
