Galerie Claude Bernard

France, Paris

The Galerie Claude Bernard was founded in 1957 by its present director and is still located near the National School of Fine Art in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés to this day. Since opening, the gallery has become famous for its focus on contemporary figurative art, including both sculpture and painting. Since 1999, it has also exhibited photography, including work by photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Martine Franck and Robert Doisneau. Each year, the gallery organises at least four solo shows devoted to living artists, interspersed with exhibitions of work by world-renowned figures such as Pablo Picasso, Giorgio Morandi, and David Hockney, and more recently Zoran Music and Alberto Giacometti. A catalogue is published for each solo show. The gallery also takes part in international art fairs.
