The convex doors fitted in serpentine fronts and decorated with a Coromandel lacquer panel each. The panels representing a rose-coloured drapery with circles enclosing birds and Chinese letters. The drapery opens to show a scenery featuring trees, houses, human figures and animals on a black ground.
The serpentine parts flanking the doors are decorated in vernis Martin lacquer and decorated with golden flowers and foliage.
The cupboard features ormolu elements such as the door frames, and mounts, apron and sabots.
The ormolu marked with a crowned "C" certifying payment of the bronze tax levied between 1745 and 1749.

One stamped DELORME.

DELORME (Adrien FAIZELOT-) received master in 1748, is one of the remarkable Paris cabinetmakers of the 18th century, established in the Rue du Temple. Member of the cabinetmaker dynasty of the FAIZELOT-DELORME, his reputation was well established. The earlier part of his furniture production is characterized by shimmering Oriental and European lacquers (in the Oriental style); his later production featuring more geometrical and floral marquetery.

Similar gilt bronze can be found on a commode in vernis Martin stamped DELORME at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
