A gold and enamel bonbonniere with a miniature on ivory representing a young lady of quality with long hair held back by a blue headband, in a neckline underlined by a veil. This is surrounded by concentric circles, one of which is set with old-cut diamonds, and the other with a border of green enamel leaves.The perimeter is covered with blue reserves in white framing nets. They are punctuated with green enamel cups.The guilloche base is covered with a translucent blue enamel decorated with pastilles.
FS letters for Frères Souchay. This goldsmith was discovered following the remarkable research of Julia Clarke and Lorenz Seelig with reference to the Von THURN and TAXI collection and other archive items. Late 18th century.
