The frame is composed of four panels decorated with parallel striations. This snuffbox is characteristic of the neoclassical style that appeared at the end of the eighteenth century breaking with the asymmetrical and rich ornamentation of the rocaille style. By its geometric decoration and its cleverly studied play of light, it is characteristic of the neo-classical style. Goldsmith mark Jacques Guillemot registered in 1783.
