Why Flemish painting? Because it reflects the optimism of the Renaissance, the period’s confidence in humanity and its unique aesthetic. To be a collector is to be curious, to discover works of art, to seek beauty and to discuss painting whenever possible; collecting is the essence of life itself. For the collector, a visit to an exhibition or a museum is pure pleasure, pure emotional stimulation. A new acquisition provokes questions from children and friends alike: it’s a shared gift. To be a gallery owner involves tireless research in museums and libraries and the intensive study of paintings, since the aim is to meet and surpass the collectors' desire for information and inspiration. This is a trade devoted to glorifying the painter, and we aim to perpetuate and share the joy it brings by publishing books and catalogues devoted to our finds. To date, these include ‘La Peinture Flamande du XVI au XVIIIe siècle’, edited by Flammarion (2001) and Allemandi (2011), a work that won an award from the ‘Institut de France’, and ‘L’Odyssée du Paradis’ edited by Citadelles & Mazenod (2012).
