A rare pair of mid 18th century walnut side chairs, the rectangular upholstered back and square seat covered in faux leopard skin material; on extremely unusual ripple carved cabriole legs terminating in paw feet.
A set of four chairs from the same suite were formerly in the well respected collection of Esmond Bradley Martin collection, New York and a stool from the same set was sold from a private collection, Sotheby's, New York, October 16th, 1993, lot 94.
