Enamelled gold Swiss box, late 18th century

Rectangular enamelled gold box. The hinged lid is decorated with a scene of young people dressed in neoclassical clothing and approaching near an altar where officiates a person dressed in the antique. The background presents a landscape decorated with colonnade. The landscape stands out against a translucent royal blue enamelled background revealing a radiant guilloché work. The framing of the scene presents a frieze of blue enameled circular motifs and left in reserve on a gold background. This frieze is repeated on the base, and on the bottom. The opening is decorated with black enamelled floral motifs. Minor restoration to the white fillet of the frame. Swiss prestige marks, 14 carats gold.
