An impressive early 19th century bronze and gilt metal six light Argand chandelier with a vase shaped reservoir, originally intended for colza oil. The reservoir sits on a dished top with a gadrooned base centred by an acanthus rosette pendant, with six acanthus leaf clad mythical beasts around the rim, each holding a burner with a lotus shaped frosted glass shade, and grasping entwined snakes with their paws. The snakes are connected to ornate chains and rods which are suspended from an ornate corona with an acanthus rosette finial.
