The quality of this great tankard is remarkably expressed by a circular engraved decoration covering its entire surface. Three oval medallions depicting characters in a landscape are surrounded by auriculaire ornaments, particularly popular during the first half of the century and close to the models of Lucas Kilian (1579-1637), Gerbrand van den Eeckhout (1621-1674) or Johannes Lutma (1584-1669).
