Intricately cut-glass bowl, 90 individual cut-glass prisms each 30 cm long, glass cylinders and balls, 8 colourless glass shades with heart pattern, remains of gold plating, freshly re-wired, beautiful original condition.
A similar chandelier was part of a dining room suite designed by Leopold Bauer for the apartment of Viennese painter Josef Engelhart. The ensemble and the chandelier are included in the MAK collection in Vienna.
E. Bakalowits Söhne's order book contains the design sketch (model no. 115) and the model name: "Modell Engelhart". The chandelier was produced with up to 12 prism holders, both with and without the intricate cut-glass bowl.
