In this finely carved cameo, the effigy is facing the right side. The head is laureated, the bust draped. The deity is characterized by very thick hair and a richly chiselled beard. The anatomical volumes are in high relief with an attractive sculptural taste. 
Zeus is the sky and thunder god in ancient Greek religion and mythology, who rules as king of the gods on Mount Olympus.
