A yellow gold rectangular snuffbox with musical mechanism, decorated on all sides with a semi-decoration of ears of corn on a wavy background in chased reserves of foliage or friezes of fleurons partially enamelled blue. IGRC goldsmith's hallmark for Georges Remond et Compagnie active in Geneva between 1783 and 1815/1820. Hallmark G in a cartouche for Genève; Hallmark P.3. G in an oval (worn) for Genève 1814

This type of flat-wheel mechanism with pins and hands is similar to the work of Daniel Isaac Piguet and Philippe Samuel Meylan, who worked in Geneva from 1811 to 1828 with J.G Remond.
