Gold and rectangular snuffbox with cut sides. The lid, the side and the base are decorated with some guilloché wave panels and covered with translucent, royal-blue enamel. A painted enamel medallion decorates the lid of the box. The medallion depicting a young nymph pricking her finger with one of Cupid's arrows, the quiver of which was placed on the altar of love. At the foot of this altar, two doves symbols of Venus watch. The medallion as the rim of the box and the sides are decorated with a black enamel frieze and enhanced with lavender blue enameled florets.
